Hi, I’m Emelen Archer!
I’m an instructional designer with 10 years of experience specializing in learning strategy for adult education and training. My work focuses on creating engaging, accessible, and practical learning experiences that meet learners where they are—across backgrounds, roles, and levels of technical comfort.
I specialize in end-to-end instructional design, guiding projects from needs analysis through content development, storyboarding, wireframing, development, testing, and evaluation. I’m particularly skilled in building scalable web-based learning modules (both short- and long-form), and I’m well versed working within iterative development cycles to continuously improve learning outcomes.
Throughout my career, I’ve collaborated closely with SMEs, facilitators, developers, and clients to translate complex or sensitive topics into clear, learner-centered instruction. I bring a facilitation-informed design approach, ensuring that training materials are not only instructionally sound, but also interactive, inclusive, and grounded in real-world application.
My experience spans training initiatives for adult learners across sectors, including public service, healthcare-adjacent organizations, military and family programs, and nonprofit environments. I’m especially committed to accessibility, digital inclusion, and adult learning best practices, and I’ve led both external and internal training efforts, including organizational learning around emerging tools such as AI.
My ideal work environment holds space for collaboration, innovation, and is a place where a diversity of minds can co-create.
